The DBA Inn of Court and American Inns of Court (AIC) are designed to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar.
An American Inn of Court is an amalgam of judges, lawyers, and in some cases, law professors and law students. Each Inn meets approximately once a month both to "break bread" and to hold programs and discussions on matters of ethics, skills and professionalism. The primary concept of the Inn of Court is to improve the skills, professionalism and legal ethics of the bench and bar. Our goal is to cultivate higher levels of excellence, professionalism, and ethical awareness among trial and appellate lawyers and judges.
The Inn of Court conducts eight meetings per year, which include dinner followed by a 1 hour CLE seminar. The seminars are planned by members of the Inn. Membership is based on your years of practice and has four categories: Student, Associate (1-4 years), Barrister (5-15 years), Master (15 years or more), and Master Emeritus (After 5 years at Master Level).
To be considered for membership in the Inn of Court, you must be nominated in writing by a current member of the Inn. Letters can be directed to the current Inn President.
