This panel of experienced trial lawyers will discuss lessons learned in preparing and trying cases. Topics include preparation and handling of lay witnesses, preparation of experts and clear communication of expert testimony to juries, cross examination, and some key features of opening statements and closing arguments and their connection with jury instructions.

In the first half of the breakout, the panel will discuss preservation of electronic discovery (namely, an overview of The Sedona Principles (3rd Edition)). During the second half, panelists will describe examples where counsel did either an excellent job, or a not-so-excellent job, of preparing for a hearing or trial.
