Associate Members - Any member in good standing of the Bar of Ohio, or the bar of another state or territory of the U.S>, who is practicing in and whose residence is in a county not adjacent to Montgomery County, OH.

 

Members - Active Attorney/Judge (Voting) Any person, including members of the judiciary, who is admitted to and a member in good standing of the Bar of Ohio or any other state or territory of the U.S. shall be eligible for regular membership with voting rights.

Member - Inactive  - Any person who has been a member of the Association for twenty-five consecutive years or more may become a retired member if he/she has acquired inactive status under the Rules of the Government of the Bar of Ohio or the bar of any other state or territory of the U.S. Inactive Members do not have voting rights.

Member - Retired - Any person who has been a member of the Association for twenty-five consecutive years or more may become a retired member if he/she has acquired inactive status under the Rules of the Government of the Bar of Ohio or the bar of any other state or territory of the U.S. Retired Members do not have voting rights.

Honorary Member - Any member who has practiced in the bar for 50 years may be appointed as an honorary member of the Association. No dues apply.

Law Student - Any person enrolled in an accredited law school and maintains the standards as set forth by the law school attending.

Law School Graduate - Any person who, although not admitted to practice before the Bar of Oh8io or another state or territory of the United States, holds a degree from an accredited law school. Law School Graduates who graduated during or less than six months prior to the beginning of the fiscal year are entitled to Dayton Bar Association membership at no charge for the fiscal year and waiver of Initiation Fee. Example: Graduate in May 2017, free until June 30, 2018 | Graduate in December 2017, free until June 30, 2018

Legal Administrator - Any person who, although not admitted to practice law before the Bar of Ohio or another state or territory of the U.S. is employed or retained by a lawyer, law firm, or governmental agency as a Legal Administrator or is employed in a capacity which involves the performance of legal services under the direction and supervision of an attorney, may be sponsored for associate membership by a regular member of the Association who certifies as to the above.

Paralegal - Any person who, although not admitted to practice law before the Bar of Ohio or another state or territory of the U.S. is employed or retained by a lawyer, law firm, or governmental agency as a Paralegal or is employed in a capacity which involves the performance of a paralegal under the direction and supervision of an attorney, may be sponsored for associate membership by a regular member of the Association who certifies as to the above. Paralegal Student - Any person enrolled in an accredited school that maintains the standards as set froth by the school attending.
