Keynote Speaker: Hon. Myra C. Selby, Ice Miller, LLP, Indianapolis, IN
The Honorable Myra C. Selby, a partner at Ice Miller, LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana, and former Indiana Supreme Court Justice, will deliver a keynote address about the steps that Ice Miller took to become one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women as recognized by Working Mother magazine. In addition, she will speak about the benefits that Ice Miller has reaped from promoting diversity.

Myra Selby has a broad-based practice with a focus in the areas of appellate law, compliance counseling, business planning, complex litigation, risk management, strategic and other legal advice, based upon an understanding of the related business objectives, across various industry sectors including health care, insurance, and public administration.

Ms. Selby served as a Justice on the Indiana Supreme Court from January, 1995 through 1999. While on the Court, Ms. Selby participated in several landmark decisions involving state property taxes, insurance, and tort law reform and she authored more than 100 majority opinions receiving national recognition. Ms. Selby spearheaded efforts to increase the Court’s accessibility to the general public by expanding education and outreach activities. In 1999, Ms. Selby was appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to chair the Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Race and Gender Fairness. The Commission is charged with ensuring fairness and diversity in the legal system.

Prior to her appointment to the Court, Ms. Selby was Director of Health Care Policy for the State of Indiana, where she was responsible for policy development and the execution of state health care programs, including Medicaid managed care.
